| This course is designed from the perspective of an organismal biologist, and as such, experience in the field is an integral part of the course. A number of field trips are planned, itemized below, and it is imperative that you attend as many as possible. We will use these field trips to: collect fungi to study in the laboratory; to augment our understanding of species diversity and species distribution in California; to observe environmentally induced variation within populations of mushrooms; and to experience first hand the biology of mushrooms. |
