Entoloma purum

Horak & Desjardin

This species, one of the smaller pink-spored taxa in the Hawaiian Islands, forms
pure white basidiomata often with an eccentric stipe on senescent stems of bamboo or
on rotten bark of hardwoods. Some authors would place the taxon in the genus
Alboleptonia , although we prefer to accept a more inclusive concept for Entoloma .
The specimen illustrated was collected on the bark of Casuarina equisetifolia from
Moloka`i. For a comparison with allied taxa see Mycologia 85: 480-489, 1993.
