Leucocoprinus sp.

As with the genus Agaricus , illustrated before, the genus Leucocoprinus is quite
diverse in the Hawaiian Islands and we have not yet determined all of our material.
The species illustrated is quite common arising from the bark of standing living
Casuarina trees, or arising from the soil under these trees. We have collected it nearly
everywhere Casuarina grows. The dark grey to black pileus disk and yellow to orange
staining reaction where bruised are distinctive features.
