Dictyophora cinnabarina

This species has a salmon pink to cinnabar-orange indusium, a dark olivaceous
brown gleba that covers a reticulate, perforate head, and a dark greyish brown volva.
It is similar to D. indusiata which always has a pure white volva. One variety of the
latter, D. indusiata var. rosea from Java may be similar to the Hawaiian species, but
more information is needed on volva pigmentation before a determination can be
made. Dictyophora cinnabarina is common on lawns in the Hilo area of Hawai`i.
